There is not much information about the transformation of Attack on Titan yet. Two live-action films were released in 2014 and 2015 and they are the only action sequels of the Anime up till now.
Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow was released in 2014 while the movie, Attack on Titan: End of the World came out in 2015. There have been may rumors about up-coming live-action movies of AOT but none has been confirmed. The reason could be fans reacting in a negative way towards the previous AOT movies.
Why Did Fans Dislike the Attack on Titan Live-Action Movie?
Simply the film did not live up to fan’s expectations. Attack on Titan is the most popular Anime of all time which is why fans expected much more from the live-action movie. The film also made a lot of changes to the actual story, starting from the location which was supposed to be based in Japan but instead it was a German-like setting and the film also included new characters and even replaced the original ones.
Creator of the film, Hajime Isayama, said in an interview “As for the impressions and reactions of those who were excited about the movie, I want to take in the favorable opinions and also the indignant ones, only to understand them” he further added “The trailer is packed with highlights, there are also tantalizing hints at what’s to come for the sequel”
Is Attack on Titan Live-action Movie worth watching?
Even though the film has altered so much from the original Anime, it is still worth to watch. The atmosphere of the film is quite appealing and the fight scenes are super cool and fun to watch. You should definitely give it a try.
Creator of the film said “..and those who feel like seeing the movie, please, by all means, go to the theater” He said people will have a good time watching the movie. I know fans had expected a lot more from the live-action movie, but unfortunately the movie failed to give us what we all wanted.
